What is Reiki? Reiki comes from two words Rei and Ki.
Rei is the universal consciousness. This is the God Consciousness which knows all. As it knows the cause of all pain and suffering it knows too, the path to heal.
Ki is the same as Chi in Chinese and Prana in Sanskrit. Rei is the universal life force. Only when a being dies does the life force depart the body. As long as the being is alive, life force will be circulating through the body. It is when there are blocks or the life energy is low that a being can be prone to sickness.
In Reiki it is the Rei ( God Consciousness ) that guides the Ki ( universal life force) and thus Reiki can be described as Spiritually guided energy.
A practitioners energy should never get depleted during or after a Reiki treatment as they are simply a channel for the Reiki energy. A practitioner does not decide where the healing should be directed. Reiki is guided by the all knowing so no interference by the practitioners ego is required. Life energy flows around us through pathways called Meridians, Chakras and Nadis. It also flows through our energy field known as our aura. The life energy can get disrupted by negative thoughts and feelings about ourselves. This is why the practice of Forrest yoga is so vital so we become aware of the negative self talk we surround ourselves in and most importantly learn a new positive dialogue.
Reiki works as it flows directly to these affected areas (blockages) and charges them with positive energy. It raises the vibration around the area and thus of the being itself.
Reiki balances, harmonises and heals the physical, emotional and mental body.
